Was your New Year's resolution to go to the gym and get in shape?
If so, your muscles are going to be sore and tired from the extra work on them.
Arnica (Arnica montana) promotes healing of tired achy muscles. It is an anti-inflammatory that helps relieve stiffness in the body.
It is also good for bruises and sprains.
Arnica (Arnica montana) is also known as leopard's bane, wolf's bane, mountain tobacco and mountain arnica. It is originally from Europe, and has large yellow flowers on a single stem.
The aerial parts of the Arnica plant are steeped in oil, and then it is turned into an ointment by adding waxes or butters.
If Arnica (Arnicra montana) is put on a bruise right after it happens, it minimizes the healing time and the bruise doesn't discolor as much. If it is a small bump, Arnica may prevent a bruise from forming at all.
Topical preparations of Arnica has been shown to be just as effective as NSAID's (ibuprofen, Advil).
Rub on Arnica Oil, or Arnica Ointment before you exercise to help stave off any muscles aches that you may get. Rub on after exercise to keep your muscles from cramping up.
